Muestra: Berlin Experimental Film Festival

BerlinPoster

Festen (The Party)

Director: Jonatan Petré Brixel
Production year: 2015, Sweden
Runtime: 22’59”

Festen (The Party) is much inspired by the character Pyotr Verkhovensky in Dostojevskijs “Evil Spirits”, a sadist coward who wants to see the world burn. The film – which is made as a “Scene Scetch” rather than a Film and with all roles acted by myself – has a narration that follows a boiling feeling of anger, despair and anxiety that is on the verge to explode. The “evil spirit” appears, and he spreads like an infection in the situation the film takes place in.
